In a startling turn of events, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, was reportedly attacked and stabbed six times. The burglary attempt occurred at his Bandra home in Mumbai. The incident is said to have taken place late on Wednesday at 2:30 a.m. An intruder broke into the actor’s residence. Moreover, the actor was immediately hospitalized at around 3:30 a.m. and underwent surgery at Lilavati Hospital.

According to city police, the actor was injured after a scuffle broke out between him and an unidentified man. He entered his house sometime after midnight. The police have issued a CCTV image showing the suspect fleeing the apartment. Furthermore, a statement from Eliyama Philip, a nurse employed at Khan’s residence, offers additional information about the incident.

The Current Scenario

Once the intruder was caught, Khan and the others were able to subdue him in the child’s room. They then quickly escaped the room and locked it from the outside. Police officials stated that the family fled to the 12th floor of the building for safety. The suspect likely used the bathroom window to exit. Moreover, he then made his way to the fire exit stairs. He was captured on CCTV footage on the building’s sixth floor.

An Indian newspaper reported that the police have not arrested anyone in connection with the case, and the assailant who stabbed Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan remains at large, contradicting earlier reports that suggested they were questioning a suspect.

Further Statements 

After the seizing of further CCTV footage of Khan’s house by authorities, some statements from witnesses came forward. 

Philip reported that late at night, she was in the room with Khan’s son and the nanny. She saw a man’s shadow near the bathroom door. The man, carrying a wooden object and a long knife, threatened both Philip and the nanny, demanding $115,477. Furthermore, a confrontation occurred, during which Philip was injured, and the nanny ran out of the room.

“He sustained a major injury to the thoracic spinal cord due to a lodged knife in the spine. A surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. Two other deep wounds on his left hand and one other on his neck were repaired by the plastic surgery team.”

She further “respectfully and humbly” requests the media and paparazzi to “refrain from the relentless speculation and coverage”.

The investigation is still underway with ongoing updates. The attack has raised significant concerns among fans about Saif’s health. According to recent reports, as per the instructions of the doctors, Saif still needs some rest before he is discharged from the hospital. In addition, Saif’s supporters, along with the entire Bollywood community, are hopeful for his speedy recovery and for justice to be served in response to this troubling act of violence.
